Central Jakarta Administration has transformed a 1.7-hectare wide land located at intersection of Jalan Pramuka Raya, Cempaka Putih into an agricultural land.

Mangara Pardede, Mayor of Central Jakarta disclosed the land called as Pramuka Ujung has been used since 2000. Using urban agriculture concept, there is a profit sharing by 80 percent for farmer and 20 percent for local government.

C. Jakarta to Add Urban Agricultural LandBayu Sari Hastuti, Head of Central Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security added, the land has been developed with various commodities, such as kale vegetable, basil, chives, fennel leaves and so forth.
"We also intend to develop chili pepper here, considering the current price is expensive and fast cropping," she closed.
