Land on Jalan MH Thamrin will Be Used as Park and Ride

A park and ride facility will be built on a 8,710-square meter wide land at Jalan MH Thamrin, No. 10 Kebon Kacang Urban Village, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

Jakarta Transportation Dept. Head, Andri Yansyah disclosed land use is in accordance with Gubernatorial Decree No. 2214/2016. Along with related units, his dept. will arrange the land.

Park and Ride to Be Provided on Jalan MH Thamrin

"Besides parking lot, the land is also able to accommodate street vendors (PKL). We predict the parking lot could accommodate 1,000 vehicles," he stated, Saturday (3/11).

He explains such parking lot is also addressed to two-wheeled vehicles. Eventually there would be gate installation. As planned, land arrangement stage will be complete on March 25, 2017.

"But we agreed it would be completed in one week. Because right now we're still focusing on cleaning about one until two days," he told.

In the meantime, Jakarta Satpol PP Vice Chief, Hidayatullah said, 500 joint personnel consist of Satpol PP, Police, Army, Forestry, Environment and Bina Marga are participating in such arrangement. To optimize it, his side also deploys two units of backhoe and one unit of shovel.

"After this, we'll also send personnel to do patrol until the development is complete," he finished.
