Council Welcomes MRT Project

The MRT project in the capital gets positive response from Chairman of City Council (DPRD), Prasetio Edi Marsudi. He assessed, it is the breakthrough needed to resolve congestion.

Regarding proposal about the extension of MRT routes from HI Roundabout-East Ancol, his party will learn in advance the needs of extended routes.

"We'll see whether it is efficient or not. If it is needed, we will go ahead. If not, we will talk it with the executive," he expressed.

He is not sure whether to approve the proposal or not. However, he agreed that Jakarta is in dire need of mass transportation modes such as rail-based MRT.

"We will study it deeply, because it refers to the huge budget problems. Later, we will dicuss it in executive meeting again," he finished.
