Librarians in Jakarta must Be Certified

City Council is instructing employees working in libraries of school, college, as well as government and organization, should be certified.

Especially in terms of library management can be done through formal and informal education

Bestari Barus, Member of City Council's Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda) disclosed, certification should be done to support library management in the future.

"Council wants library management in school, college, government and organization to be better by having a librarian skilled workers," he expressed, Wednesday (4/12). 

He said library should have librarians who have special skills.

"Especially in terms of library management can be done through formal and informal education. For librarians with diploma (S1) with different majors can follow the certification of the national library of the institution," he uttered.

Besides certified librarians, library management in such bodies must also be accredited through an agency that has the authority.

"According to the rule, the national library is also given the authority f or accreditation," he closed.
