Got to Try Keripik Sukun From Seribu Islands!

Keripik sukun (breadfruit chips), which is a typical food of Seribu Islands is increasingly popular. This one crunchy food becomes one of the mainstays for sale to tourists.

In a month, our earning can reach Rp 3 million

Saini (64), a keripik sukun maker from RT 01/03, Tidung Island Urban Village said many tourists who come to buy keripik sukun to take home.

"Our marketing is targeting the stalls until PKK outlets. But now we already have permanent customers who always make an order from the land," she expressed, Saturday (4/22).

Her business was previously started from making crackers made from cendro and cob fishes. Unluckily it was less desirable and she decided to turn to the business of keripik sukun.

"Keripik sukun packaged in a plastic is valued at Rp 8,000 and pretty sold," he stated.

She bought a breadfruit or sukun from the center of Tidung Kecil Island Agro Tourism managed by Seribu Islands Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Sub-dept.

"In a month, our earning can reach Rp 3 million," she told.

Just to be known, tourists can easily find keripik sukun in Untung Jawa Island, Tidung Island and Pramuka Island.

The entrepreneurs already have training guidance and business permit from Seribu Islands Industry and Energy Sub-dept. through Household Industry Product (PIRT).
