A water channel and an embung (ponds of stagnant water) in Kebon Bibit Agrotourism Cilangkap area, Cipayung, East Jakarta are dredged. Besides experiencing sedimentation, those are also strewn by weeds.

We then request the help from Jakarta Environment Dept. to dredge garbage and mud in the channel and embung

According to Beritajakarta.com, Tuesday (5/2), two amphibious excavators have been sent and operated at the location. Dredging is started from the channel until embung on the west side of Kebon Bibit. 

Kebon Bibit Agrotourism Cilangkap Technical Management Unit Head, Ali Nurdin said, the channel and embung are malfunctioned. It is because of garbage, mud and weeds.

"We then request the help from Jakarta Environment Dept. to dredge garbage and mud in the channel and embung. Considering we have no heavy equipment thus we need assistance from other units," he expressed. 

He added fish seeds would be spread on the embung's 5,000-square meter land. Thus the people can fish and use the existing fish.
