City Targetting Emission Test on 10,000 Vehicles

Jakarta Provincial Government targetting 10,000 vehicles to be taken emission test in order to evaluate urban air quality. According to the plan, emission test will be held in five city regions from May 2-18, 2017.

Each region is targeting 2,000 vehicles to take emission test in three days

Jakarta Environment Dept.'s Environmental Impact Control Field of Environmental Pollution Handling Section Head, Agung Pujo Winarko said, urban air quality evaluation will be held on May 2-4 in North Jakarta and South Jakarta. In each region, the activity will be held in 3 locations.

"In Noth Jakarta will be held on Jl. Boulevard Barat Kelapa Gading, Sunter Lake surrounding area, and Jl. Benyamin Sueb. While for South Jakarta will be held in Lenteng Agung, Kalibata, and area near TB. Simatupang," he said on Tuesday (5/2).

He explained that evaluation will be held in three phases; emission test, air quality on the road side, and traffic counting. Emission test, monitoring, and traffic counting will be conducted in those different locations.

Meanwhile, on May 16-18, this activity will be held in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and East Jakarta. According to the plan, for West Jakarta area, it will be held in front of CNI building, Jl. S. Parman, and Jl. Kali Besar Barat.

For Central Jakarta, it wil be held on Jl. Merdeka Timur, Proklamasi and Gelora Bung Karno. For East Jakarta, it will be held on Jl. Pemuda, Jl. Raden Inten, and Jl. Taman Mini.

"Each region is targeting 2,000 vehicles to take emission test in three days. The result will be an assessment for Ministry of Environment and Forestry in city air quality evaluation contest," he closed.
