BPBD Held Disaster Handling Simulation to SLB Students

Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling Board (BPPBJ) held disaster handling simulation from May 3-18, 2017 to students in schools for disabled (SLB) in five city regions.

We give some knowledge and procedure how to save ourselves from disaster

Jakarta BPPBJ Head, Husein Murad said, this simulation is a form of concern for children with disabilities. 

"BPPBJ held the simulation as form of our concern," he said, Thursday (5/4) at City Hall.

City Forms Disaster Alert Volunteer

He explained that his side collaborated with Jakarta Rescue, Fire Handling and Rescue Dept. and Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Jakarta to provide material for self-rescue and evacuation techniques when disaster happened to disabled students.

"For the material, we have cooperated with other related institutions. We give some knowledge and procedure on how to save ourselves from disaster," he added.

On the first day of simulation, Wednesday (5/3), it was held in SLB Negeri 7 (public special school) East Jakarta. Then on Thursday (5/4) was held in SLB Negeri 3 Central Jakarta.

It continued on Tuesday (5/9) in SLB Negeri 4 North Jakarta, on Wednesday (5/10) in SLB Negeri 2 South Jakarta, and last on Thursday (5/18) in SLB Negeri 6 West Jakarta.
