“Yesterday, a woman came to me and complained about her house on the riverbank which evicted and got compensation Rp 8 million. While crying, she asked how she can live with that,” told Basuki at City Hall, Wednesday (6/11).
After a long talk, Basuki realized that the woman came to ask for a replacement house. While actually, her house was standing illegally on a land belongs to Jakarta Provincial Government.

She acted too much. After I told her that, she stopped crying. I know very well that kind of attitude,” he uttered.
According to Basuki, such case is not the first time happened after he leads Jakarta Provincial Government. In the beginning of his tenure, a victim of eviction in Muara Angke also came to him to deceive Jakarta Provincial Government in giving more compensation money.
“He asked for compensation Rp 25 million. We’ve checked. In fact, he himself demolished his own house and built a house on the edge of Muara Angker River. He also has two rental houses worth Rp 25 million,” disclosed Basuki.
Because of that, Basuki assumed that the mentality of some city residents is still not good by refusing and questioning the best solution given by Jakarta Provincial Government on their problems.
