12,433 Liquor Bottles in Central Jakarta Destroyed

Around 12,433 liquor bottles with various brands consfiscated by Satpol PP in five cities along January-June 2017 are destroyed in Silang Tenggara Monas, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

The liquor has no circulation permit

Based on the data gathered, 1,233 out of 12,433 liquor bottles are seized from Central Jakarta, 5,000 bottles from West Jakarta, 700 bottles from South Jakarta, 4,000 bottles from East Jakarta, and 1,500 bottles from North Jakarta.

City Secretary, Saefullah disclosed, last year, more than 19,000 liquor bottles were destroyed. Its number is decreasing at the same period last year.

"It shows the extraordinary synergy of Jakarta Provincial Government along with Satpol PP with police, army and attorney. Hopefully, it is a sign that people are becoming more aware," he expressed, after he led the ceremony about the destruction of alcoholic beverages," he stated, Tuesday (6/13).

In the meantime, Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Jupan Royter Tampubolon expressed, it is accordance with DPA No. 104/DPA/2017 dated on January 3, 2017 about Destruction of Alcoholic Beverages in Jakarta.

"The liquor has no circulation permit. We want to protect people from dangerous of liquor and bootleg liquor that can cause death," he closed.
