Parking Man Caught for Marijuana in PKL Raid

The joint personnel held a control in Pasar Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Saturday (6/14). The personnel secured 21 street vendors` cart and 9 parking men. Even, one of them was caught having marijuana.

Entering the holy month of Ramadan, Pasar Tanah Abang becomes more chaotic. The rampant of street vendors selling on roadside completed with illegal parking have caused terrible traffic jam.

Street Vendors Raid in Tanah Abang Ended Chaotic

This condition is still added with many trading vehicles unloading their goods also on the roadside.

Head of Central Jakarta Satpol PP, Yadi Sumaryadi, said the raid involved 261 personnel which consisted of 40 personnel of Tanah Abang Police Sector, 20 personnel of Koramil, 120 personnel of Satpol PP, 45 personnel of city transportation department, 16 personnel of train specialized police, 10 personnel of Block B Pasar Tanah Abang securities, and 10 personnel of city social department.

"This raid is continuation of similar effort conducted several days ago. We'll keep this effort to create wary effect," said Sumaryadi.

During the raid, officer caught a parking man who brought marijuana. He directly taken to Tanah Abang Metro Police Sector for further process.

Previously, Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama had warned on Tuesday (6/10) to conduct massive raid in Tanah Abang.
