E. Jakarta KPKP Sub-dept. Examined Foods in Six Markets

60 joint personnel conducted food supervision and examination in six markets, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/18). Food samples taken from merchant goods were examined to ensure its contains.

In this sudden inspection, we examine any harmful additives contained in food products

East Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity Sub-dept. Head, Agung Priambodo said there were 63 samples taken from Enjo Market, Ujung Menteng, Cakung, Cawang Kavling, Cipinang Muara, and Pulogadung.

"In this sudden inspection, we examine any harmful additives contained in food products. Such as formalin, pesticide residue, chlorine, and borax," he said.

99.7 Percent of Food from Markets in Central Jakarta Safe to Eat

According to him, product is considered not worth for consumption if containing any harmful additives since it can harm people health.

"Product that positive containing harmful substances will be kept and destroyed. We will search its distribution channel," he closed.
