City-Sync Team Discuss Waste Water Management

IPAL will be developed in urban village, flat, sub-district, school, puskesmas, social institution, and RPTRA

Jakarta Provincial Government along with sync team once again held Focus Group Discussion (FGD) at Bappeda Pattern Room, the second floor, City Hall. Theme discussed is about management of clean water, waste and garbage, Thursday (7/20), 

Regarding waste management, Raw Water, Clean Water and Wastewater Section Head, Eko Gumelar disclosed, the city this year is focused on development of a communal waste-water treatment plant (IPAL) at 11 locations.

"IPAL will be developed in urban village, flat, sub-district, school, puskesmas, social institution, and RPTRA. Land that will be provided is about 40-60 square meters width," he stated.

According to him, the communal IPAL can serve 50-200 people. Yet, he admitted, the project requires a very long period of time and substantial funds.

"Besides that, we also already have waste water master plan," he expressed.

There are 11 IPAL locations that will be made this year. They are Lenteng Agung Urban Village on a land of Social Dept, Jagakarsa Urban Village on a land of Fire Handling and Rescue Dept., Semper Barat Urban Village, Kebon Pala Urban Village on a land of Education Dept.

There are also a land of Park Dept. on Bungur Urban Village, Ulujami Urban Village, Ciracas Urban Village on a land of Cleanliness Dept., Kebon Manggis Urban Village on a land of Park Dept., Rawajati Urban Village on a land of Education Dept., Cempedak Urban Village or Ciganjur on a land of Fire Handling and Rescue Dept., and Ciracas Urban Village on a land of Fire Handling and Rescue Dept.
