Bapemperda to Map Types of Industries in Jakarta

Council asks the related unit to record and map all activities of small-large industries in the capital

City Council's Draft Regulation Formation Board (Bapemperda DPRD), asking Jakarta Industry and Energy Dept. to record and map all types of small, medium and large industry businesses in the capital.

"Council asks the related unit to record and map all activities of small-large industries in the capital," disclosed Merry Hotma, Vice Chairperson of City Council Bapemperda, Thursday (7/20).

Draft Bylaw Drafting About Financial Rights and Administrative Accelerated

He disclosed, it is done in order to solve the licensing problem that has been complained by most industrial business owners.

"Difficulties in licensing is due to the contraction of bylaw related to spatial planning regulation that has been in effect since several years ago. Whereas, the wheels of the industry have been running before the bylaw is applied," he expressed.

Therefore, her party has scheduled a discussion on the revision of bylaw on spatial planning this year as a solution to solve licensing problems.

"Before bylaw revision on spatial detail planning is discussed, the recording and mapping process related to industry types can already be done," he stated. 

Another City Council's Bapemperda member, Bestari Barus added, there must be coordination among SKPDs to conduct recording and mapping.

Previously, Jakarta Industry and Energy Dept.'s Industry Section Head, Elisabeth Ratu RA explained that had recorded and mapped the industry actors in the city through the mechanism of reporting the production of production periodically once every six months.

"The report will be the benchmark of recording and supervision and can be used by other related agencies," he disclosed.
