Dinsos Asked By Council to Make Raperda About Elder Protection

City Council Commission E asked Social Dept. (Dinsos) to provide regulation draft (raperda) about elder protection in City. This was asked by City Council Commission E Secretary, Veri Yonnevil in joint meeting with Dinsos, Tuesday (7/25).

Thus we asked Jakarta Dinsos to propose its draft soon so can be discussed and approved by council

He expressed, elder protection is already applied by East Java Government. He hopes City could apply similar regulation (perda).

"We still do not have similar perda. Thus we asked Jakarta Dinsos to propose its draft soon so can be discussed and approved by council," he said.

He added, social problem in Jakarta is not only concentrated towards people with social welfare issues (PMKS), but also protection towards elders.

"There are a lot of various social issues that need to be solved," he added.

Jakarta Social Dept. Head, Masrokhan confirmed, his side is still arranging governor regulation (pergub) regarding to elder protection in City.

"This pergub becomes the basis for Jakarta Elder Card (KJL). So we ask for legislative support thus the program could be realized next year," he closed.
