Citizen will Be Involved More in Betawi Art and Culture Performances

Jakarta Tourism and Culture Dept. (Disparbud) will hold Betawi art and culture performance by more involving all community elements.

Jakarta Disparbud Cultural Art Training Center (PPSB) Head, Budiyanto said, art and culture can be socialized optimally with community involvement. By involving them as the actors, hopefully Betawi culture will become a part of their daily life. 

"So, we are not only give knowledge, but we will also invite them to be involved directly in our socialization," he said, Sunday (7/30).

He mentioned Culture Meester Performance at Ex-Kodim 5050 Building, East Jakarta as an example. According to plan, this event will involve students from Rawa Bunga SDN 11 and 12, Cipinang Muara SDN 06, SMAN 54, PKK cadres from Rawa Bunga Urban Village, and East Jakarta Batik Painting Community (Kombajati).

The students will perform various Betawi dances and cultures together with Disparbud PPSB's fostered gambang kromong. Kombajati will show various Betawi batik products. While PKK cadres will demonstrate Betawi culinary foods.

"We are still scheduling to five other Jakarta regions. Next, we will hold in Marunda Flat after the Meester," he closed.
