Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept. is preparing 100 officers to examine sacrificial animal health ahead of the upcoming Idul Adha this year.

Those officers will be assigned to conduct sweeping at temporary animal slaughterhouses spread across five cities.

Secretary for Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept., Elly said, the officers are prepared to examine sacrificial animal health that will be sold to people. Thus the buyer can get a healthy sacrificial animal and meet the requirements.

"They will examine sacrificial animal health at animal slaughterhouses," she expressed, Wednesday (8/9).

She expressed, it will be done next week. According to her, the physical condition of the animal must be good and does not experience defects such as lame, blind, damaged ears, lean, male and not old enough.

"We will also check the saliva and blood of animals by sampling. Blood will be checked in the laboratory," she explained.

Technically, animals like goats and sheep should be over one year old marked by the growth of a pair of permanent teeth.

"As for the cow and buffalo, must be over two years old with conditions have grown a pair of teeth," she stated.
