Light Rail Transit (LRT) project phase 1 for Kelapa Gading-Velodrome route is still on construction progress. While LRT rolling stock will be shipped to Jakarta.

Rolling stock will be shipped from April 2018. It will arrive in stages

PT. Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) President Director, Satya Heragandhi said, his side has ordered rolling stock since early February from Hyundai Rotem, a Korean company.

"Rolling stock will be shipped from April 2018. It will arrive in stages," he said in summit meeting (rapim) at City Hall, Monday (8/14).

He mentioned, his side has ordered 16 rolling stocks. It is planned to be shipped before LRT operation i n August 2018.

"Two trains will be placed in each set. Thus later eight sets will be operated," he informed.

According to him, the procurement for 16 rolling stocks is cost around US$ 320 million including spare parts, maintenance, and others.
