West Jakarta Mayor Leads Independence Day Ceremony

West Jakarta Mayor, Anas Effendi, led a ceremony of 72nd Independence day anniversary on the yard of West Jakarta Administration office building, Jalan Raya Kembangan, Thursday (8/17) morning. 

As stated by Bung Karno, independence is a golden bridge to a better and brilliant future

After reading the text of the proclamation and raising the red-white flag, the mayor then read the greeting of Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat.

In his speech, the governor invited all parties to make changes, carry out development in various fields, work without giving up the spirit of nationalism.

"As stated by Bung Karno, independence is a golden bridge to a better and brilliant future," he expressed.

The ceremony was continued with the prizes award of the contest. Among them are prizes for cleanliness contest which was achieved by Kebun Jeruk Sub-district, the utilization of medicinal plants and acupressure was achieved by Mandiri Cendana sub group, Palmerah, healthy school competition was achieved by Santo Kitophorus 2 kindergarten and 2017 Porsenibud won by Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept.

Aside that, it was also filled by a choir of teachers in Cengkareng Sub-district, which sang a number of national songs.

Afterwards, West Jakarta Mayor, Anas Effendi along with city communication forum leader watched the colossal drama of struggle for Indonesian independence.
