Public Transport Infrastructure in Jakarta Targeted to Be Completed By 2020

Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat disclosed, the policy of restrictions on two and four-wheeled vehicles on some roads is imposed to overcome traffic congestion. Eventually, it will be abolished after the construction of all public transportation infrastructures in Jakarta is completed in 2020.

According to him, after the public transportation infrastructure is completed by 2020, the people will turn to public transport. While for private four-wheeled vehicles will be applied the electronic road pricing (ERP) at some protocol roads.

Additionally, the city will also set zoning-based parking rates. And then, parking tariff in the area that enters the ring 1 will be more expensive than ring 2 and 3. Then, on-street parking will also be more expensive than off street.

"Can you imagine in 2020, it's no longer a restriction like that," he closed.
