DPRD Chairman Wants to Delay Extension of Lane Ban for Motorcycle

Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Prasetio Edi Marsudi revealed the extension of lane ban for motorcycle on protocol roads in the capital would be activated when mass transportation mode is ready.

If the policy is planned to be tested in September, I think it must be delayed first until our mass transportation is ready

"If the policy is planned to be tested in September, I think it must be delayed first until our mass transportation is ready," he expressed, at City Council building, Tuesday (8/8).

Extension of Lane Ban Policy For Motorcycle must Be Reviewed Deeply

He explained, mass transportation modes in question are Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). 

"We have to propagate mass transportation first such as MRT, LRT and BRT. If everything is realized, the policy can be applied," he said.

Aside that, he continued, it must also be accompanied by the implementation of Electronic Road Pricing (ERP).

"Do not let the limitation has been done yet the ERP is not yet executed. This should be a common concern," he closed.
