42 Rusunawa Flats Sealed

Proven to violating rule, 42 Marunda Modest Rental Flat (Rusunawa) units in Cilincing, North Jakarta Utara sealed by Flat Management Unit (UPRS) Region I of City Housing and Government Building Dept, Thursday (6/19). Dozens of flat occupants are known to not match with the original owners, or they have not taken rental agreement.

"In Marunda Flat, there are 42 sealed units. Those dozens units are in cluster Blok C 1, 2, and 5. The seal is done after sweeping 300 units," said Marhayadi, Head of UPRS Region I of City Housing and Government Building Dept.

He explained that along this time, his party always gets information related flat occupants who violate the rules. Based on that report, his party then holds sudden inspection.

"For the first stage, we will give white seal since they have not applied agreement letter and the occupants are not match with occupant list owner,” told Marhayadi.  

According to him, the white seal taped to door, is to give warning to the owners to take care or clarify their flat status. His party gives deadline of seven days to the flat occupants to take care their administrative documents.

"If in seven days they do not apply, we will tape with red seal. If they do not apply it three days after red seal, we will lock and take it over,” affirmed Marhayadi.

Dewi Anggraeni (42), the occupant whose house sealed, admitted that her unit is on behalf his kid’s name. She and her husband have occupied Cluster C Blok C Unit 111 Marunda Flat since two months ago after her kid went to outside town for vocation.

"Beforehand, I rented a house in Clincing. Since my kid has a business, my husband and I were asked to occupy the flat. I’ll call him later to talk with the management,” said Anggraeni.
