Education Dept. Demanded to Intensify Socialization of DAK PAUD

Jakarta DPRD Commission E, asking Jakarta Education Dept. to optimize socialization about Special Allocation Fund (DAK) amounting to Rp 80 billion for 4,000 early childhood education centers (PAUD) in the capital.

Jakarta DPRD Commission E Chairman, Pantas Nainggolan said, DAK socialization is necessary, thus PAUD managers can adjust the requirements to get grant aid from the central government.

"We want the allocation fund amounting to Rp 80 billion to be socialized to the public," he expressed, at City Council building, Tuesday (8/29).

He also encourages the dept. to prepare regulation for developing PAUD. It is because from the information in the field, the strict requirement to make the grant is not absorbed optimally.

"That's what resulted the allocation fund always experiences the advantages in the last two years," he explained.

Separately, Jakarta Education Dept. Head, Sopan Adrianto explained, the unoptimal absorption of DAK worth Rp 80 billion, because 1,000 out of 4,000 total PAUD in the capital cannot adjust technical guidelines (juknis) from the Ministry of Education and Culture.

"Thus, until now, we can only absorb Rp 50 billion. But, in the remaining time until December, we try to optimize the absorption," he disclosed.
