Anticipating PMKS, 30 Intersections to Be Guarded

Ahead of fasting month of Ramadhan and Eid ul Fitr feast day, People with Social Problems (PMKS) starting to rampant again in the capital city. To anticipate this matter, Jakarta Social Department will mobilize hundreds of Services, Surveillance, and Social Control (P3S) officers in all capital city areas.

“P3S officers will standby in 30 intersections in Jakarta. Social Department will optimize surveillance in 15 intersections, while 15 others become sub-departments’ responsibility,” stated Head of City Social Department, Masrokhan, to beritajakarta.com, Thursday (6/19).

For citizens who want to file complaints on PMKS, Jakarta Social Department has formed Fast Reaction Team (TRC) to respond it.

“Citizens can complain by calling 021-32222225 and 021-4264679. At this time we’re still seeking the availability of call center which is still in infrastructure preparing process,” he informed.

Besides monitoring the PMKS, Masrokhan continued, his department will also hold control and law enforcement as well as social outreach. For the control, it will be done in cooperation with Satpol PP and the police.

“Netted PMKS will be guided in 27 social institutions under the coordination of Jakarta Social Department. And 10 days before Eid ul Fitr, they will be returned to their hometowns,” he explained.

According to Masrokhan, Jakarta Social Department also works together with palm companies in Kalimantan and Riau to send the social inmates (WBS) to work there.

“We’ve distributed a total of 36 social inmates to palm plantations. After Eid ul Fitr, we’ll send another 66 social inmates,” he told.
