South Jakarta Residents Enthusiastic Getting Free Healthcare Services

The Indonesian Army (TNI) on Thursday (6/19) held the XXVIII TNI Manunggal KB Kesehatan (TMKK) activity in Cilandak Sub-District, South Jakarta. In this activity, local residents were getting free healthcare services, such as contraception planting and dental examination as well as blood donor. Not only that, those in need were also getting free staples packages.

This activity aims to raise society’s awareness and concern of health in developing small, healthy, happy, and prosperous family

South Jakarta Mayor, Syamsuddin Noor, told this activity is cooperation between South Jakarta Administration, TNI, and the police. It is held as form of social solidarity, a sense of togetherness, and a concern for the families and society.

“This activity aims to raise society’s awareness and concern of health in developing small, healthy, happy, and prosperous family,” he stated.

City to Improve Elderly's Health

Personally, Noor supported this free healthcare services and family planning activity. Moreover, the population in South Jakarta in 2010 has increased for 1.47 percent to become 2,096,627 people with population density of 14.151 people per kilometer square. On the other hand, South Jakarta area is only as wide as 145.73 kilometer square.

“We will re-encourage family planning (KB) program again to press population growth, especially in South Jakarta,” he said.  

Meanwhile, Head of South Jakarta Family Planning Office, Unas Affandi, explained that this activity of the XXVIII TMKK is held to improve social welfare, accelerate development achievement, and encourage family planning program.

“We give free family planning services to 129 acceptors, general medical services to 600 people, dental examination to 25 people, 26 blood donors, do AIDS outreach, and distribute 1,000 staples package,” he uttered.
