Ahead of Ramadan, integrated team of Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade (KUMKMP) Department on Thursday (6/19) held sudden inspection related to three-kilogram gas canister availability in the markets.

As a result, the availability of three-kilogram gas canister in Jakarta is safe. There is no scarcity, because the distribution from distributors to agents runs normally. There had been information on gas canister scarcity a week ago, but Pertamina immediately increased gas canister supply to all distributors in Jakarta,” stated Jakarta KUMKMP Department Secretary, Irwandi.
Moreover, Irwandi explained that during the inspection, the integrated team also conducted supervision in terms of legal aspects concerning permits, administration, and technical aspects. The legal aspects and administration include trade permit (SIUP), company registrations (TDP), agent appointment, and sales reports, which have met requirements.
“While for the technical aspect (metrology), the integrated team checked gas canisters that must have SNI standard, labels, tube contents and quality, highest retail price (HET) in distributor and agent levels, as well as supply or distribution. The agents and distributors who have been checked also have met the technical aspect,” he uttered.
Meanwhile, Head of Jakarta KUMKMP Department Consumer Protection Section, Oberlin Hutapea, informed that the HET of three-kilogram gas canister in distributor level in Jakarta is Rp 15,500 per canister. While in agent level, the HET is Rp 17,500 per canister.
“We have asked Pertamina to add three-kilogram gas canister agents to press selling price to the citizens because the sales added with shipping charges,” he told.
