400 Tons of Garbage Transported Every Day from Water Body

Jakarta Environment Dept. every day is transporting 400 tons of garbage from water bodies, such as rivers, reservoirs, lakes, coast and sluice gates in the capital.

"We're transporting 400 tons of garbage from rivers, lakes, reservoirs and so on every day," expressed Isnawa Adji, Head of Jakarta Environment Dept., Tuesday (9/12).

Garbage Pile on Jalan Akses Marunda Cleaned

To conduct it, his side has deployed 4,015 freelancers (PHL) to the field. 

"Those freelancers are spread in five cities," he stated.

After being transported, those garbage are disposed to Bantar Gebang landfill, Bekasi, West Java. In addition to heavy equipment, garbage transportation is often done manually.

"Every day we do ceremony twice to map the handling of waste from water bodies to be handled," he closed.
