Marunda Flat Occupants Complaining Roof Leaks

The residents living in Block C1, Cluster C, Marunda Flat, North Jakarta, are protesting roof leaks in the flat which allegedly caused by water seepage from a bathroom at upper level. As a result, the roof leaks caused puddles and rotten smell inside the flat that disturbed flat occupants.

Actually, repair was already conducted by a company through its CSR (program) at the beginning of this year, but turns out the roof still leaks

Indah Eka Wati (23), flat occupant at Unit 117, Block C1, Cluster C, told that the roof leaks have been going on since a month ago right after the unit above her unit was occupied.

“As soon as someone occupied it, my unit’s roof is leaked. I had to put a bucket to accommodate the water,” she lamented, Friday (6/20).

North Jakarta Administration to Form KSP for Marunda Flat Inhabitants

Responding this matter, Head of Region I Flats Management Unit Facilities and Infrastructures Section, Agus Ruhiyat, admitted that Cluster C of Marunda Flat indeed needs heavy repair. But since it is needed to accommodate relocated residents, some blocks like Block C1, C2, and C5 were quickly repaired. At this time, those blocks have been occupied by about 300 households.

“I have received reports (on roof leaks) in nearly half of the units occupied in Cluster C. Actually, repair was already conducted by a company through its CSR (program) at the beginning of this year, but turns out the roof still leaks,” he uttered.

Ruhiyat stated that his party will collect data and find out the cause of the roof leaks in Marunda Flat. Afterwards, administrative papers will be immediately prepared to be included in Goods and Services Procurement Unit (ULP).

“Later after the process in ULP finished, we’ll repair the roof leaks. Hopefully, it can be realized as soon as possible,” he said.
