New Pier will Be Built in Kalibaru

New pier will be built in Kalibaru Urban Village, Cilincing, North Jakarta. But it is still waiting for permission from Transportation Ministry's Harbormaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP).

For a while, embankment in several spots can not be done since there are several businessmen in the location

This new pier is needed for National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) construction acceleration in north coastal of Jakarta.

Jakarta Secretary's Assistant for Development and Environment, Gamal Sinurat said, this pier is needed for four businessmen in timber transport and expedition field which need access to sea.

Kalibaru-Cilincing Embankment Construction Targeted to Finish in December

"For a while, embankment in several spots can not be done since there are several businessmen in the location," he mentioned, Thursday (9/14).

According to him, constructing a new pier is the best solution from Jakarta Provincial Government and Ciliwung-Cisadane Flood Control Office (BBWSCC).

"Four piers will be built exactly in front of embankment. BBWSCC will design the pier while its construction will be handed over to each businessmen," he explained.

He added, since there is a change in elevation, its design is needed to be made. Now, the embankment will be higher and needs to be dredged for access.

"Dredging matter will be discussed together with Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Dept.," he closed.
