Jakarta Environment Dept. is looking to intensify the trash littering act (OTT) operation towards people who throw garbage haphazardly. Currently, the operation has been done during Car Free Day and on the banks of the river.

According to Isnawa Adji, Head of Jakarta Environment Dept. said his dept. wants to encourage the people's aware in protecting the environment by expanding OTT.

He wants each region has a pilot in OTT action every day. In West Jakarta for example, OTT is held in Kota Tua area, in Ragunan, South Jakarta, East Flood Canal (KBT), East Jakarta.
He assessed, by doing so, people' awareness of environmental hygiene is believed to be increasing.
"This year we have collected Rp 75 million as a fine sanction. And then it is deposited to the city's treasury," he closed.
