35 Officers Deployed to OTT in CFD

As many as 35 officers were deployed to conduct Tangkap Tangan Operation (OTT) in Car Free Day event along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Sunday (9/27).

We will hold OTT every week in CFD event. The target is waste offenders

Vice Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, Ali Maulana stated, the operation was held as there are still many citizens littering. Eventhough waste offenders number declined yet the operation will keep being conducted in every Car Free Day both at Provincial or city level.

"We will hold OTT every week in CFD event. The target is waste offenders. Those offenders caught will be sanctioned by collecting waste and making a statement letter that they would not do the same thing," he asserted.

1 Million Citizens Attended 13th Year Car Free Day

The operation is sympathic operation thus citizens accustom to be discipline, not littering. If the sanction is given, they will realize and not do it anymore.

Currently the number of waste offenders declined. The average in every week is 300 citizens netted.

Besides that, Jakarta Cleanliness Department also cooperates with Jakarta Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives Department so that street vendors will provide trash bin thus food leftover or the packages disposed to the trash bin.
