City Council has noted four points to preserve Betawi culture after conducted recess with artist, residents and executives at Padepokan Silibet, Pengadegan Timur Raya, South Jakarta on Sunday (10/22).

Commission E Member, Sereida Tambunan explained those four points are to build Betawi cultural-valued character, strengthen Betawi culture's local identity and character, and committed to wear Betawi clothes every Wednesday.
Betawi Puppets Staged at Wayang Museum"We are focus in collecting residents aspirations about Betawi cultural preservation," she conveyed, Monday (10/23).
She hopes Betawi culture could be known to abroad and developed more by cooperating with various sides, start from arts activists, residents and related department.
"Betawi culture could be known not only in Jakarta, but also throughout Indonesia and abroad," she affirmed.
South Jakarta Tourism and Culture Sub-dept. Head, Nursyam Daoed added, Betawi cultural preservation has been mentioned in Perda No. 5/215 and Pergub No.229/2015, and then it is mentioned again in Pergub 15/2017 about Betawi Culture Icon.
"We need to be grateful as Jakarta people who own Betawi culture. Jakarta Provincial Government also supports it by making Perda or Pergub for Betawi cultural preservation," he closed.
