City UMP This Year Finally Set at Rp 3.6 B

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan has set the 2018 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) amounting to Rp 3,648,035. This figure increased by 8.71 percent compared to last year by Rp 3,350,750.

We set the 2018 UMP at Rp 3,648,035 per month

According to him, it is also based on the consideration of inflation rate from September 2016 to September 2017 amounting to 3.72 percent, and gross domestic growth in Jakarta, which reached 4.99 percent.

Jakarta's 2018 UMP will Be Set Today

"We set the 2018 UMP at Rp 3,648,035 per month. This is higher than this year by Rp 3,350,750 per month," he expressed, at Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (11/1). 

He explained, it is already in accordance with the input of the Wage Council, and the proposal of Labor Ministry refers to Government Regulation No. 78/2015 on Wages.

"The discussion has been done with multi stakeholders, not simple and long enough," he explained.

According to him, negotiation of UMP determination to facilitate all parties. Thus, from the labor side, there is an increase, while the entrepreneurs also do not bear heavy burden.

"I hope all parties may run this decision," he told.

While, Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno hoped it could increase the movement of the economy in the capital.

"We want to improve the welfare of workers and to revive the business world," he closed.
