City-Singapore Hold Workshop on ERP Implementation

Jakarta Provincial Government along with Embassy of Singapore, held a workshop on the implementation of the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) entitled "Follow Up Workshop on Knowledge Sharing of ERP: The Success and Problems of ERP Implementation" at City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno expressed, through in-depth discussions, exchange of views and experiences are expected to bring sustainable urban solutions, especially urban transport challenges.

"Singapore has applied ERP since 1974. Lots of experiences we get here," he told, Tuesday (11/28).

ERP Revenue Can Subsidize Public Transport

He assessed that it becomes the part of ERP implementation in Jakarta in 2019 where the auction of ERP technology procurement is hoped to be completed next year.

"The process is now underway, surely we have the expert, Transportation Dept. We will choose the latest technology for the next 5 to 20 years," he stated.

He added that Jakarta delegated human resources to Singapore. They would have the job to monitor and study ERP, as well as ensuring how the later implementation in Jakarta.

"We had sent our human resources to Singapore on November 7-11. We will send more soon," he expressed.

In the meantime, Singapore's Ambassador to Indonesia, Anil Kumar Nayar uttered that traffic management is a big challenge in big cities. Therefore, he wanted to share experiences and exchange ideas with the city.

"Most importantly we can learn from each other and exchange experiences," he stated.
