373,219 Foreign Tourist Visited Jakarta During Jan-Feb 2017

During January-February 2017, there were 373,219 foreign tourists visited Jakarta. That amount is 15.98 percent higher compared to the same period in 2016 by 317,820 foreign tourists.

We will support travel entrepreneurs to make and promote tourism packages

Jakarta Statistic Central Bureau (BPS), Thomas Pardosi said there are 26,579 tourist came from China from total 189,438 foreign tourists in February 2017.

"Next is Malaysia by 20,689 visitors, Japan 17,085 visitors, Singapore 13,267 visitors, and Saudi Arabia 11,690 visitors. The rest are from South Korea, India, Taiwan, America, and Philippines," he said.

Number of Tourists Visiting Jakarta Keep Increasing

As foreign tourist number increased, the occupancy rate of five stars hotels in Jakarta during February 2017 also increased to 61.83 percent. In the same period in 2016, hotel occupancy rate reached 56.15 percent.

"At this foreign tourist rate is estimated not reach its peak yet. From 2015 and 2016 data, the highest number of visitors happened in July to August," he explained.

Jakarta Culture and Tourism Dept. Secretary, Jeje Nurjaman admitted will maximize strategy to promote to countries with the highest number of visitors. Hopefully, in the peak season, will be able to boost foreign tourist number maximally.

"We will support travel entrepreneurs to make and promote tourism packages," he closed, Wednesday (4/5).
