Passport Request in N. Jakarta Goes Up

Number of passport request in North Jakarta Immigration Office is increasing ahead of Christmas and New Year. It is considered many North Jakarta residents want to spend their holidays abroad.

It seems many residents want to go abroad

North Jakarta Immigration Office Head, Amran Aris said, recently his side prints around 200 passport books per day. In regular day, his side only prints 150-175 books.

"It seems many residents want to go abroad," he expressed at North Jakarta Immigration Office, Jalan Boulevard Barat Raya, Kelapa Gading, Tuesday (12/19).

His side also opens service on Saturday and Sunday to anticipate this increase. Besides, residents can apply for passport through online service that can be accessed since August.

"This method helps to avoid queuing," he added.

He informed, 55,832 passports have been issued from January to December 18, 2017. While in 2016, his side has issued 54,289 passports.

"We plan to launch mobile passport service next year to enhance our service," he conveyed.
