"We will demolish 400 illegal buildings in West Jakarta," asserted Acting Head of West Jakarta Building Control Sub-Department Sub-Department, Marbin Hutajulu, Thursday (7/3).

Hence, he asked people to process the IMB first through the Building Control Section at the level of sub-district if they want to build a building. "The requirement is simple. Moreover, people can already process the IMB online," he told.

Since the IMB online system is launched by city administration, he continued, people's awareness to process permit before constructing building has begun to improve.

Until the beginning of July 2014, his sub-department has received 1,574 permit applications. From that amount, 316 out of them are from sub-department level and 1,263 others from sub-district level.

"Thus far, we already received 1,263 applications and are still under process," he stated.

He admitted that some people do not understand how to process the IMB online. As a result, many of them were rejected due to incomplete requirement.
