Again, 13 Buildings Affected by MRT Demolished

Compensation in form of 37 plots of land have been paid off in 2012. Due to there are still 13 buildings, we decide to demolish them

As an effort to speed up the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) construction, the ranks of Kebayoran Lama Sub-District are demolishing dozens of buildings standing on Jalan Pasar Jumat, Pondong Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, Thursday (6/26).

"Compensation in form of 37 plots of land have been paid off in 2012. Due to there are still 13 buildings, we decide to demolish them," expressed Head of Kebayoran Lama Sub-District, Agus Irwanto.

Of the 65 plots of land or 4,000 square meters affected the MRT project in Pondok Pinang, Irwanto disclosed, until now, 37 out of them as wide as 2,500 square meters already acquired. As planned, the MRT pillars will be installed in such land.

 

Head of Jakarta Satpol PP, Kuku Hadi Santoso stated 200 personnel of Satpol PP were deployed in the second phase of the demolishment. In addition, one heavy equipment type excavator also deployed to accelerate its process. 

"We deploy 200 personnel, and janitors, army, and police around 300 personnel. We'll demolish the buildings soon," he asserted.

For the initial stage in Lebak Bulus-Pondok Pinang Urban Villages, the demolishment is targeted to be completed in late July. "Therefore, I urge the owners to immediately vacate their buildings. If not , we will do demolishment," he stated.

Due to demolishment process, traffic congestion cannot be avoided due to many people and motorists slow down the vehicles to see the demolishment closer.
