North Jakarta will Add More Disaster Preparedness Villages

North Jakarta Social Sub-dept. will add four disaster preparedness villages (KSB) this year. Currently there have been 16 KSBs developed.

Before it is developed, we'll recruit personnel first

North Jakarta Social Sub-dept. Head, Aji Antoko said those four KSBs that will be developed are in Tanjung Priok Urban Village, Koja Urban Village, Cilincing Urban Village and Sikapura Urban Village.

16 Disaster Preparedness Villages Formed in N. Jakarta

Each KSB has 20 officers who are recruited from Karang Taruna at level of RT/RW and Tagana. They are alerted in urban village offices or Sasana Krida Karang Taruna (SKKT) building.

"Before it is developed, we'll recruit personnel first. They would undergo training that is closely related to the main task and function as a KSB officer," he stated, Tuesday (1/2).

Training that will be done is about public kitchen, tent making, disaster victim evacuation.

As for the sub-dept. only conducts guidance and simulation. Besides checking, it is also to ensure all KSB infrastructure facilities work properly.

"Tent and cooking ware belongs KSB can also be used for social and religious activity," he closed.
