Sandiaga Encourages Elevated Railway Construction to Be Realized

Jakarta Vice Governor, Sandiaga Uno encourages elevated railway construction to be realized soon. Considering there are many flat railway lines, especially loop line.

He mentioned, his side has conveyed this matter to BUMN Minister, Rini Soemarno. He hopes that the p lan could be started this year to reduce traffic congestion in Jakarta.

"Besides TOD (Transit Oriented Development), we also talk about a crucial matter, elevated loop line. We want to accelerate our project together with PT. KAI since its documents have been issued," he said, Monday (1/8).

According to him, flyover and underpass construction in each intersections is less effective than loop line. Jabodetabek Transportation Management (BPTJ) will make this project's Detail Engineering Design (DED) soon.

"Flyover and underpass are not solving the problem. So I guess it is better to make elevated railway. Thus it will make a better integration," he expressed.
