Flyover and Underpass Constructions Keep Accelerated

Flyover and underpass constructions which located near rail crossing are keep accelerated. Jakarta Provincial Government hopes this development could minimize traffic problems such as traffic jam and accident.

Railway crossings are also considered danger since accident between trains and vehicles or even people is quite high

Jakarta Governor Deputy's Assistance for Transportation, Sunardi Sinaga said, on these current years Jakarta Provincial Government had closed several railway crossings since it is considered causing traffic jam.

"Railway crossings are also considered danger since accident between trains and vehicles or even people is quite high," he said, Friday (11/3).

Railway Crossings Closure Trial Continuous to Be Finalized

According to him, railways in city are more effective and efficient if it could be placed on flyover. It is considered could prevent accident, traffic jam, train could travel on time, and lessen infrastructure cost.

"Under its flyover also could be used for business area. But it needs extreme policy and political will, especially related to infrastructure financial work scheme," he closed.
