To anticipate passenger surge ahead of Eid ul Fitr, Jakarta Provincial Government will test out the Pulogebang Terminal, East Jakarta, as a supporting terminal. As planned, its operational will be activated on 7 days before until after Eid ul Fitr.
According to Anton Parura, Head of Terminal Technical Management Unit (UPT) for Jakarta Transportation Department, the trial is conducted to prevent passenger surge during Eid ul Fitr, where its amount will increase compared to last year. "Currently, his department and central government is discussing the plan because it relates to exit-enter access towards toll road has not been finished. But its infrastructure has been prepared," he expressed, Thursday (7/3).

Eventually, There are 5-6 autobus companies located at Rawamangun Terminal would be transferred to Pulogebang Terminal. They have fleet about 10-15 of intercity interprovince (AKAP) bus. Thus, the rest can be transferred to Pulogebang, especially AKAP Bus (Java and Bali).

His side predicts the amount of homecomers this year will reach 4.2 million or increase compared to last year which reached 3.778 million. Among them is 440 thousand of homecomers using AKAP bus, 118 thousand using free homecoming program, 519 people using PT KAI service, 32 thousand using ship service, 1.5 million using airplane service, 500 thousand using motorcycle and 1 million using private vehicle.
