12 Terminals in Jakarta Ready to Serve Homecomers

This year, we provide three main and nine support terminals to serve homecoming flow

Jakarta Transportation Department has prepared 12 terminals to serve the homecomers in the capital city. They consist of 3 main and 9 support terminals and will operate on 7 days before Eid ul Fitr. 

According to Muhammad Akbar, Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, last year, his sub-department only prepared 4 main terminals. But this year, there will be only 3 main terminals because of Lebak Bulus Terminal is no longer operate as intercity interprovince (AKAP) terminal.

Lebak Bulus Bus Terminal will Be Closed Next Week

The three main terminals are Pulogadung, Kampung Rambutan, and Kalideres. They would serve homecomers with different destination. Particularly for Pulogadung Terminal, will serve trip heading for Central Java, Kampung Rambutan Terminal serves West Java areas such as Bandung and Tasikmalaya, and Kalideres Terminal serves trip heading for Sumatera and Banten.

"This year, we provide three main and nine support terminals to serve homecoming flows," he expressed, Tuesday (7/1).

The 9 support terminals are centered in North Jakarta (Tanjung Priok and Tanah Merdeka), East Jakarta (Rawamangun, Pinang Ranti, and Pulogebang), South Jakarta (Pasar Minggu), and West Jakarta (Muara Angke, Grogol, and Rawa Buaya).

During homecoming period, Transportation Department already has preparation on 7 days before Eid ul Fitr or on July 21 until five days after Eid ul Fitr or on August 5. To provide convenience for passengers, the road worthiness test (KIR) against public transport is scheduled to be carried out before leaving for out of the city, including vehicle brakes, bus body, and some other equipments.

On the other hand, his sub-department also cooperates with police to conduct urine test against public transport drivers. "We just ensure the condition of the public transport and its driver. If the driver is proven using drugs and drinking liquor, they will be detained and prohibited to drive," he stressed.
