Not Processing IMB, 187 Building Owners Brought to Trial

As many as 187 building owners whose buildings troubled followed misdemeanor trial in West Jakarta State Court, Friday (7/4). They are proven guilty for violating Bylaw No. 7/2010 on Buildings because had recklessly built buildings without processing building permits (IMB).

The trial was led by chief judges Pahatar S and Jasen Simbolon as well as prosecutors Sudianto and M Kurniawan. The building owners were charged with fine ranging from Rp 1 million to Rp 15 million. From them, a total of Rp 430.5 million collected.

“There are 187 building owners brought to trial. They are willing to pay the fine which will be handed out to regional treasury. Although they have paid the fine, they are still obligated to process their building permits. If not, we’ll cooperate with Satpol PP to demolish their buildings,” stated Acting Head of West Jakarta Building Control Sub-Department, Marbin Hutajulu.

Violating Permit, Three-Floors Building Dismantled

Meanwhile, Head of Grogol Petamburan Sub-District Building Control Section, Sunarno, asserted that his party will seal the buildings whose building owners remain unruly and neglect West Jakarta State Court’s advice. From 187 buildings, 43 of them are located in his jurisdiction.

“I hope those 43 building owners follow the applicable rules,” he said.
