Sandi Invites Locals to Maintain Beauty of Monas Region

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno, encouraging residents to be able to jointly maintain the beauty and neatness of the National Monument (Monas) area, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

Monas area is an asset that needs to be maintained and cared for as its own

According to him, Jakarta Provincial Government has applied a policy to remove the guardrail between pedestrian track and grass areas.

"Monas area is an asset that needs to be maintained and cared for as its own," he stated, Friday (1/12).

He added, the Monas Management Unit needs special supervision to prevent abuse.

"There should be supervision to avoid a negative impact. We want people to start learning to appreciate the park to be treated together," he expressed.

He explained, the removal is done due to unfeasible condition. In addition, the Monas area as green open space (RTH) is provided as a means of recreation for the people.

"We plan to make Monas area like central park, instead of garden. The garden is only seen, while the park can be enjoyed by the people," he uttered.
