Basuki: Certificates Held Back by Schools? Report to Me!

Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama pays attention to the case of school certificates held back by school parties after graduation announcement. For that, he asks the parents of students whose certificates held back by their schools to report the case to him.

Parents of students whose certificates held back by their schools, report it to me. I will directly pay the (students’) arrears

“School certificate is important for students’ lives, such as to apply jobs. Therefore, to parents of students whose certificates held back by their schools, report it to me. I will directly pay the (students’) arrears,” stated Basuki in Ali Sadikin Room during Safari Ramadan activity at West Jakarta Mayor office, Friday (7/4).

Basuki admitted that certificates being held back by the schools often happened in private schools. However, he cannot drop sanction to those schools.

“No more story certificates got held back because parents could not pay arrears,” he asserted.

In that occasion, Basuki also gave donation to 124 disadvantaged people and orphans as well as distributed hearing aids, three-legged walking sticks, and wheelchairs.
