Post Fire Incident, Maritime Museum will Be Restored

Post fire incident, Maritime Museum on Jl. Pasar Ikan, Penjaringan, North Jakarta will be restored. Some experts, especially in history and cultural heritage fields will be involved in this restoration.

Together we want to ensure Maritime Museum restoration

Jakarta Vice Governor, Sandiaga Uno mentioned, Jakarta Provincial Government will get some help from assistance team for World Heritage status from United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

"Together we want to ensure Maritime Museum restoration," he said, Wednesday (1/17).

Post-Fire, Bahari Museum Guarded Tightly

According to him, Jakarta needs better monitoring to prevent similar case happened again in other museums in City. Especially that related to electricity installation or cable network.

"For now, fire is estimated to happen due to short circuit. Thus Jakarta Tourism and Culture Dept. should intensify its monitoring," he expressed.

For information, Maritime Museum was on fire yesterday, Tuesday (1/16) at 9 AM. Fire also burned some museum collections. Around 11 AM, fire was fully extinguished.
