Sandi Wants City to Have Qualified Regional Logistics System

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno wants Jakarta to have a regional logistics system that is qualified as part of the national logistics system.

This year logistic sector is predicted to grow by 12-14 percent

Sandi stated, the increased the efficiency of the logistics system needs to be done. Hence, Jakarta Provincial Government decides to cooperate with the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI).

"We will align the existing regulations. Moreover, the city already has a regulation harmonization committee," he expressed, after he welcomed the caretakers of ALFI, at City Hall, Wednesday (1/17).

Sandi Wants Kota Tua Restoration to Be Realized Soon

He explained, based on existing research and data, nearly 30 percent of the costs spent by businesses in Indonesia and Jakarta are absorbed by the logistics sector.

"We want 3,000-4,000 jobs in the logistics sector continues to grow," he stated.

He added the logistics industry grew twofold than economic growth in Jakarta. Besides about transportation, the logistic sector growth also includes warehousing and application of digital technology.

"This year logistic sector is predicted to grow by 12-14 percent," he stated.
