This is done in order to get UNESCO statement in making Kota Tua as world heritage.

"Previously, Kota Tua was not only used as a trade center in Southeast Asia, but also world. Thus we hope it to be restored immediately," he mentioned at City Hall, Tuesday (1/16).

He encourages Jakarta Tourism and Culture Dept. (Disparbud) to plan and calculate its budget.

"Its budget and concept must be planned soon. It is for a commitment," he added.

Later on, he also wants to ensure fire accident in Maritime Museum will not affect UNESCO decision since it is still a part of Kota Tua.

For information, Kota Tua has been proposed to UNESCO as world heritage since 2015. There are several requirements that must be fulfilled by Jakarta Provincial Government. One of them is to revitalize Kota Tua area.
