Together With Two Ambassadors, Anies Monitors Manggarai Floodgate

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan together with Norwegian Ambassador, Vegard Kalee and Denmark Ambassador, Rasmus A. Kristensen have monitored Manggarai floodgate on Jl. Tambak, Menteng, Central Jakarta. 

Our challenge is not only clean waste in downstream, but also in upstream

In this chance, Anies conveyed that Jakarta Provincial Government is very serious in handling waste problems, especially plastic waste. For example, Gerebek Sampah movement program.

"Government and residents maintain cleanliness together. Last week, we have cleaned Krukut River," he mentioned, Tuesday (1/30).

Malaysia Ambassador Visits City Hall to Strengthen Relationship

According to him, waste problem should be done comprehensively from upstream to downstream. Residents should be educated to produce minim waste.

"Our challenge is not only clean waste in downstream, but also in upstream. We support central government effort to handle waste in integrated approach," he expressed.

For information, this monitoring is also attended by World Bank Country Director, Rodrigo A Chavez; Deputy of Maritime Sovereignty, Coordinating Ministry of Marine Affairs, Havas Oegroseno; Central Jakarta Mayor, Mangara Pardede; and Jakarta Environment Dept. Head, Isnawa Adji.
